Required Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or a closely related major.
Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
2+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering design role
Solid engineering fundamentals: statics, strength of materials, kinematics, and mechanism design, and manufacturing
Great communication skills: written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate design ideas and contribute to brainstorms
Eagerness to work in a dynamic environment and dependably complete individual work

In this highly impactful role, you will use your mechanical design engineering skills to bring our Magic products to life. This looks like:
Collaborating with industrial designers, hardware, software, product integrity, and technology teams to define the vision of a product
Exploring multiple product form factors and developing new product architectures
Defining kinematic behaviors to support ergonomic optimization
Integrating mechanisms, sensors, and other electromechanical components
Partnering with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability
Ensuring design meets requirements through the life of the product through stress and tolerance analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, testing, and failure analysis
