Governance Lead

Location: Whitehall, OH
Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $75.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Governance Lead

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end risk evaluation and remediation processes across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to define and maintain remediation strategies, action plans, and documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to meet project milestones and deliverables related to risk findings.
• Analyze and prioritize risk findings to support effective planning and resource allocation.
• Build strong partnerships with technology, business, risk, and security teams, as well as internal and external auditors.
• Provide regular updates, status tracking, and reporting to leadership.
• Oversee internal audits and ensure timely execution of corrective actions.
• Support regulatory, audit, and compliance examinations by providing required documentation.
• Stay informed on team objectives and activities to ensure alignment and collaboration.
• Evaluate and improve standards and controls in preparation for audits and reviews.
• Assist in updating policies, standards, and procedures in support of governance functions.
• Track and ensure accuracy of project deliverables throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead initiatives and contribute to other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), information security, or audit.
• 2+ years of experience in project management.
• 2+ years of experience engaging with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables on time and within budget.
• Experience with IT service management principles and frameworks.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and self-directed with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Familiarity with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO, COBIT).

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of risk management and audit methodologies.
• Experience with cloud technologies and platforms.
• Proficiency in tools such as Archer, ServiceNow GRC, Azure DevOps, or similar.
• Experience in technical writing and documentation.
• Ability to analyze and interpret risk data, control metrics, and audit findings.
• Understanding of control testing and implementation tracking.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CySA+, CRISC).
