Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with a strong background in Liability Insurance Policy Administration to join our dynamic and growing Core Insurance Product Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the configuration and enhancement of our Liability Policy Admin Solution, with a focus on streamlining and optimizing policy administration processes.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Client's Skye configurators, designers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that align with market needs and business objectives.
Key Responbilities
- Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders, including underwriters, actuaries, analysts and other business units, to gather and prioritize requirements for product enhancements.
- Backlog Management: Own the product backlog, defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Product Roadmap: Create and manage a detailed product roadmap at a feature level, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives, product vision and customer needs.
- Sprint Planning & Execution: Lead sprint planning sessions, collaborate with the development team to ensure features are delivered on time, and address any blockers.
- User Story Development: Translate complex insurance underwriting requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Oversee user acceptance testing to ensure that the delivered features meet the expected standards and requirements.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure that the product meets industry standards, regulatory compliance, and best practices in insurance underwriting.
Qualifications
- Education - Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, IT or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner and overall 10+ years of experience as an Ops Leader to administer policies, Business Analyst, or similar role in the Liability or Specialty Insurance industry
- Strong background in Liability Products or Specialty Insurance, with a deep understanding of the entire lifcyle of a policy, Insurance principles, and industry best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments preferably worked as a Scrum Master.
- Familiarity with insurance software platforms and policy administration systems.
- Proficiency in using product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!) and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel).
- An effective communicator, able to clearly articulate business and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Experience in managing parallel work streams with global teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
