The Data Science & AI (DSAI) organization is a key part of BAM's continued growth. The DSAI organization supports Investment Teams across all asset classes by providing research and tools powered by data science and AI to help deliver results and PnL.
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer Summer Associate to join the Data Science & AI Academy at BAM in summer 2026. In this role, you will help to design, develop, and maintain our data infrastructure. You will be responsible for creating data systems and pipelines that enable effective management, analytics, and reporting for large, complex datasets. In doing so, you will gain a solid understanding of enterprise development and exposure to a wide range of cloud and enterprise technologies.
Responsibilities
Develop and deploy data pipelines and workflows in the cloud
Create data models and infrastructure for a wide variety of market and alternative datasets
Design and build services and plugins to enhance our data platform
Participate in data architecture discussions
Maintain alerting systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations for hundreds of datasets
Author tests to validate data quality and the stability of the platform
Help document and maintain internal processes and data management policies
Qualifications & Requirements
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in data science, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field with a graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027.
Outstanding programming skills: SQL and Python experience is required
Experience with data architectures, data modelling, and database design principles
Experience deploying data-driven application to production
Experience working in and with containers
Familiarity with Kubernetes
Familiarity with ETL tools and data ingestion techniques
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
Working knowledge of various relational and NoSQL databases is a plus
Bonus points for experience with AWS or other cloud-based services
