Job Title: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Developer
Job Summary:
The GIS Developer is responsible for the analysis, development, maintenance, testing, and implementation of GIS applications, automation processes, and spatial ETL solutions. This role supports both web-based and mobile spatial systems by leveraging industry-leading platforms to meet organizational needs and enhance geospatial capabilities.
Essential Functions:
Design and develop spatial ETL processes using Safe Software s FME platform.
Configure and customize GIS applications and tools using VertiGIS Web Studio and VertiGIS Workflows.
Configure and enhance applications developed with Esri s ArcGIS Experience Builder.
Develop custom GIS applications, widgets, and tools for spatial web and mobile environments.
Identify, analyze, and support the lifecycle (design, development, maintenance, and upgrade) of both in-house and third-party GIS software applications.
Research, plan, test, and implement internal and external application interfaces with the Enterprise GIS system.
Build spatial web and mobile mapping applications using technologies from Esri, VertiGIS, and Safe Software.
Conduct usability testing for GIS applications to ensure optimal user experience prior to deployment.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with existing or newly developed GIS applications.
Maintain comprehensive technical documentation detailing GIS application workflows, processes, and support procedures.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Geography, GIS, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of GIS applications.
Hands-on experience with Safe Software FME.
Proficiency with Esri ArcGIS Enterprise and related Esri applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience configuring and customizing applications using VertiGIS Web Studio and VertiGIS Workflows.
Experience configuring and developing applications using Esri s Experience Builder.
