Description

SAIC is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Engineering Technician II at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In this role, you will play a crucial role in inventory management within the team by accurately managing incoming and outgoing on and off base shipments of explosives and ordnance items. Our ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and transporting shipments.
  • Completing documentation for Shipping Requests, Receipts, and OIS movements.
  • Prepare ordnance and explosives for safe shipment or transport.
  • Maintain Magazine storage inventory and proper documentation.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of work experience
  • Able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret Needed to start
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to obtain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Must be able to work in all seasons and within various conditions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Capable of building and maintaining good customer relationships.
  • Ability to learn, become proficient in, and work within the Explosive Qualification Certification Program at NSWC Crane.

    DESIRED:
    • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
    • Experience with ordnance or explosives.
    • Inventory management experience.
    • Forklift operation experience.
    • Previous shipping/receiving experience.
    • CORP/OIS (Ordnance Information System) experience.
