Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain test stands and other mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will fabricate test stand fixtures, operate laboratory test equipment, and perform demonstrations of test stand equipment. Additionally, this role involves sourcing or fabricating replacement parts for both electrical and mechanical systems, and building and repairing hydraulic and other mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain test stands and mechanical equipment.
  • Fabricate test stand fixtures and perform general fabrication tasks.
  • Operate test stands and laboratory test equipment.
  • Perform demonstrations of test stand equipment.
  • Source or fabricate replacement parts for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Build and repair hydraulic and other mechanical systems.
  • Create panel layouts and perform miscellaneous shop-related duties.
  • Ensure safe operation of power and manual tools in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate with supervisors and clients regarding work schedules and time/material cost estimates.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, calibrations, and servicing of equipment.
  • Interpret drawings, manuals, and instructions to fulfill assigned tasks.
  • Maintain and replenish common parts inventory.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Attend regular training workshops and report progress to supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial mechanical discipline
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Electrical cable and panel building experience (nice to have)
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of plant electrical systems (nice to have)
  • Experience with variable frequency drives and motors (nice to have)
  • Working knowledge of CAD or other engineering drafting tools (nice to have)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
