Job Details

Seeking an experienced SME with 10 yrs. of overall exp. with enterprise systems, specializing in advanced administration of WebSphere Application Server, cloud system administration (across Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud) & containerized application platforms on Linux and AIX. Extensive hands-on exp. in a complex multi-tier & multi-platform enterprise-class environment.

Duration: contract position/through 6-30-26
Work location: 100% remote USA (eastern time work hours)
*Candidates who live in the central and eastern time-zones are preferred*

Work schedule:
Hours: 8-10 hours per day.
Core hours: Monday-Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
On-call: Subject to a 24/7/365 on-call rotation.

Required exp. skills:
*WebSphere, AIX, and Linux Administration (Mandatory)*
-Perform upgrades, patching, and security fix implementation for WebSphere.
-Monitor application and system performance, troubleshoot, diagnose issues, and implement fixes.
-Interact closely with development teams to design solutions, and to deploy and maintain applications.
-Install, configure, and deploy new WebSphere Application Servers (WAS) on AIX and Linux.
-Develop and deploy shell scripts to automate tasks.
-Exp. with SSL and application security within WebSphere.
-Exp. with Apache, IBM HTTP Server, and IIS webserver setup.
-Exp. administering platforms such as MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker/Podman, and Azure CI/CD.
-Advanced root cause analysis skills and the ability to articulate findings clearly.

*Cloud and Container Management (Mandatory)*
-Hands-on exp. with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
-Exp. supporting SaaS products like Adobe Enterprise or MuleSoft Cloud Integration.
-Deploy and manage containerized applications in a cloud environment.
-Solid understanding of clustered container orchestration, configuration, and setup of Kubernetes or
OpenShift.
-Exp. in deploying Infrastructure as Code using Azure CI/CD Pipelines from Azure Repos.
-Implement security best practices for cloud-based systems.
-Exp. deploying Containers, Microservices, and Kubernetes in both on-prem and cloud environments.
-Collaborate with cloud vendors to recommend infrastructure solutions.

General technical knowledge:
-Strong knowledge of Unix, Linux, and Windows operating systems and administration tasks.
-Exp. with highly available vertical/horizontal scaling and disaster recovery capabilities.
-Knowledge of Single Sign On, network load balancers, firewalls, and IP subnets.
-Experience with on-prem monitoring tools like Splunk and Dynatrace, and cloud monitoring like Azure Monitor.
-Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Nexus, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git, Subversion).
-Knowledge of storage subsystems and Salesforce.
-Understanding of application development, implementation, deployment, web services, data integration, and messaging/transformation.
-Demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills related to Cloud, IAM, and privileged access management.

Professional skills & abilities:
-Exp. supporting and participating in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
-Exp. handling and reacting quickly to infrastructure alerts.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
-Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
-Access and analyze business requirements, current state environment, and technology choices to evaluate security solutions.
-Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction and coordinate deployment/release schedules and status with all stakeholders.
-Champion best practices and quality standards.
-Participate in functional and technical meetings throughout the development lifecycle.

Desired Skills & Certifications (nice to have)
-Certifications: WebSphere, AIX/Unix, Linux, Azure CI/CD, Azure, AWS, RedHat OpenShift, Docker.
-Scripting: Python, Windows PowerShell, and JavaScript.
-Tools: Azure Repos and Azure DevOps.

-10 years of experience-required
-4 yr. college degree or equivalent–Computer Science-required
-Exp. administering platforms like MuleSoft, RabbitMQ, Docker/Podman, Promethus, Azure CI / CD-required-8 yrs.
-Install, configure & deploy new WebSphere application servers on AIX & Linux-required-8 yrs.
-Exp. deploying Containers, Microservices, Kubernetes on-prem & cloud-required-8 yrs.
-Certified in WebSphere, AIX /Unix, Linux, Azure CI/CD, Azure or AWS. RedHat OpenShift, Docker, Python, Windows PowerShell and JavaScript-highly desired
-Azure repos and Azure DevOps experience-highly desired
-Highly available vertical/horizontal scaling & DR capabilities-required-10 yrs.
-Hands/on exp. in a multi-tier & multi-platform enterprise class environments-required-10 yrs.
-Advanced skills in administering WebSphere Application Server, cloud system administration and containerized applications-required-10 yrs.
