Genesis10 is seeking a Quality Control Specialist - Fiber Construction for a REMOTE direct hire, W2 position.
Salary: $60-65k
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Control Engineer - Fiber Construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and planning of fiber optic networks, including the creation of detailed network layouts, documentation, and support for field operations. This role requires a deep understanding of fiber optic technology, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Control Engineer - Fiber Construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and planning of fiber optic networks, including the creation of detailed network layouts, documentation, and support for field operations. This role requires a deep understanding of fiber optic technology, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
Job Duties:
- Review and optimize fiber optic networks including backbone, distribution, and last-mile connections.
- Create and maintain detailed design documentation including network layouts, splice diagrams, and route maps.
- Utilize internal teams for site surveys and assessments to determine optimal network routes and placements as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers, team members, and contractors to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
- Utilize GIS, PDF editors, and CAD software to develop and refine network designs.
- Perform cost analysis to support network design decisions, constructability, and optimization choices.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, local regulations, and company guidelines in all designs.
- Provide technical support and guidance during the construction and deployment phases of the project as needed.
- Review and approve as-built documentation to ensure the accuracy of the final network.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in fiber optic technology and industry best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in fiber optic network design, OSP construction, or a related role.
- Proficiency in GIS, CAD, and other design software tools.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic technology including splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with both aerial and underground fiber deployment methods.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (e.g., ITU, IEEE, NESC) and local regulations.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
- Experience with fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network design and construction..
- Familiarity with fiber management systems and databases.
