Title: Firmware/Systems Validation Engineer

Location: El Paso, TX

Start date: 10/27 or 11/3

Duration: 3-6 months+

Product/Project: Flight Data Recorder

Summary: Our client designed a new version of a flight data recorder that uses the SCSI protocol to connect to the flight data systems. The engineers who designed the communications and associated firmware are no longer with the company. The designs have limited documentation. They are looking for a strong firmware/systems engineer to come in and review the documentation, designs, and system to determine what type of firmware debug and validation needs to be done and if any further design/coding is required. They would also like documentation to be updated for the design.

This position can be done 100% onsite but the client is open to a hybrid schedule depending on experience and home lab capabilities.

Required Skills:

  • SCSI Experience (it s OK if it s not recent experience)
  • Strong firmware debug and validation/verification experience
  • Experience with C
  • ARINC experience
  • Strong firmware systems experience
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Good team and communication skills

Bonus skills (not required):

  • Avionics and flight systems experience
  • Flight data recorder experience
  • Zynq Ultrascale experience (ZCU2CG)
  • PetaLinux experience
