We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Network Engineer II for a Full-Time position.
Network Engineer - Tests and analyzes all elements of the network facilities including power, software, security features, communications devices, lines, modems, and terminals and for the overall integration of the enterprise network. The contract staff member is responsible for the planning, modeling, simulation, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the network. Monitors and controls the performance and status of the network resources. hardware tools, identifies, and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance. Maintains technical currency and studies vendor products to determine those which best meet client needs. Provides guidance and direction to less experienced network support technicians. The incumbent performs the duties and responsibilities of the Network Task Area Leader when the Task Leader is unavailable.
Additional Requirements: A current Cisco CCIE Certification or knowledge of computer systems / network engineering related to the "Network Environment" specified below.

Network Hardware
- DOI primarily utilizes Cisco hardware, which consists of routers from 2600 series through 7513 and Nexus series routers to include all modules that can be installed in these routers. Other modules configuration experience needed would include SSL modules, CSM modules, VPN modules, IDS modules and firewall modules with context configurations.
- Cisco switches which consist of 2900 series through 6513 and Nexus switches and all modules that can be included.
- Cisco security hardware to include Pix firewalls, ASA firewalls, ASA VPN hardware, VPN concentrators and Cisco IDS devices.
- Juniper firewalls and routers.
- Riverbed network optimization hardware.
- Citrix Netscalers network devices, which include 7000 through 9010 HA, configured for remote access, load balancing, SSL and global load balancing (GLB).
Current Network Protocols Utilized
- Networking equipment and software such as routing protocols which consist of BGP, EIGRP, HSRP for supporting government applications.
- Other network protocols to include but are not limited to: LAN, WAN, Ethernet, fiber, MPLS, VPLS, VRF, IPSec, wireless, SNMP, and DNS/DNSEC operations.
- Network security best practices and protocol knowledge to support enterprise network applications.

The Mid Network Engineer is responsible for all aspects of network administration.CCNA or CCNP certification are highly preferred, Cisco experience is a must.
Qualifications:
- The ideal Network Engineer candidate will be able to do the following:
- Design, build, and implement network systems.
- Troubleshoot network performance issues. Analyze network traffic using network monitoring tools and provides capacity planning solutions.
- Monitor and respond to complex technical hardware and software problems. Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degrade d system performance.
- Support the purchase, testing, and installation of network communications systems, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.
- Perform system-level design and configuration of products, such as, Cisco routers, switches, and ASAs. Determine the hardware, OS, and other platform specifications.
- Plan systems projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
- Perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.
- Provide assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.
- Provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints.
- Provide the routine analysis of all elements of the network facilities. Reviews network reports and logs to ensure optimal performance.
- Utilize software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.
- Communicate effectively with other project groups, such as, Security, Windows, UNIX, and Storage teams to assist with the installation and troubleshooting of systems components.
- Participate in regular, rotational on-call support with other network team members and provides prompt service to clients and users.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years networking experience
- CCNA/CCNP
- Experiencewith routing protocols, such as, BGP and OSPF is preferred.
