Location & Work Arrangement

Key Responsibilities and Technical Environment
The programmer will act as a technical leader, ensuring the integrity and functionality of systems supporting the Bureau of Water and federal data transmittals.
1. Core Development and Data Expertise
- Primary Stack: Working knowledge of ASP.NET, .NET, and C#, along with HTML and CSS.
- Database: 8 years' experience in building and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures.
- Troubleshooting: Demonstrable software troubleshooting/debugging and analysis skills, addressing service desk tickets, and participating in code reviews.
- Security: Experience in software security standards and best practices.
2. Specialized Water Quality Systems
- Required Domain: 3 years' experience supporting Water Quality/Safety Information Systems, preferably in a government setting.
- Preferred Systems: Experience implementing, configuring, and supporting specialized federal/state systems, including SDWIS, Water Quality Exchange (WQX), SWIFT, and DW SFTIES.
- Collaboration: Experience working/collaborating with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is highly desirable.
3. Leadership and Migration Support
- Migration Focus: Lead data migration and software implementation for new software. Assist in ongoing migration processes by identifying dataflows, dependencies, and technical requirements.
- Mentorship: Mentor other developers and provide technical leadership within the team.
- SDLC & Testing: Expertise in developing and executing software test cases, and familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain system documentation, including disaster/data recovery procedures.
4. Desired Technical Additions
- Experience with Apache Tomcat and Java.
- Experience using service/help desk ticket platforms.
