Avanciers are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer (Level 4) with extensive experience in embedded systems development to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and delivering embedded software solutions for memory-constrained systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded C/C++, BSP development, and Linux kernel/device driver optimization, along with prior team leadership experience and strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, code, and test embedded software to meet product and performance requirements.
Analyze system and marketing requirements to create detailed technical specifications and software architecture documents.
Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and supporting documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
Lead software development efforts across onshore and offshore teams, including code reviews, mentorship, and technical guidance.
Develop and optimize Board Support Packages (BSP) and Linux device drivers.
Tune and customize embedded Linux kernels for hardware-specific and low-power applications.
Interpret and analyze electronic circuit schematics to inform software design decisions.
Collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure software alignment with overall system architecture.
Work within Agile/Scrum methodologies and CMMI-compliant processes for software development and delivery.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
8 12 years of professional experience in embedded systems software development.
Strong hands-on experience with embedded C and C++ programming.
Proven experience developing software for memory-constrained embedded systems.
Advanced expertise in:
Linux device driver development
Embedded Linux optimization and tuning
Board Support Package (BSP) development
Additional Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of team leadership experience (mentoring, code reviews, project guidance).
Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics and datasheets.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Preferred / Additional Skills
Experience with ARM Cortex-A8 and Cortex-M3/M4 microprocessors.
Knowledge of low-power design techniques for embedded Linux.
Proficiency with:
UML for software design
Microsoft TFS, Visual Studio
HP ALM, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins
Experience as a Scrum Master or within Agile Scrum teams.
Familiarity with full SDLC and experience delivering embedded products to market.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear software designs.
