The candidate submitted has been developing C++ market data apps since 2020.
This is for a company called Exegy located in Brentwood (a suburb of St. Louis) MO. . Must live in St. Louis and be willing to interview and work on site 3 days a week.

Contract through mid-Dec 2025. Core team is in STL, works hybrid 3 days in office, M/T/Th, would have some flexibility but needs to be local. Will start with phone screen with hiring manager, will have 3 rounds of interviews with several technical assessments. Not a junior/training role, he's not strict on the 7 years but they need to be able to show strong proficiency in C++ during the interview/assessments. Must have C++ and Market Data/feed handler experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated senior level software engineer to work closely with other dedicated engineers in our Market Data Engineering group. The engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, documentation, and debugging of time critical, multi-threaded, distributed applications that interact with the company s custom hardware acceleration devices.

Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, work well with others in a team environment, and the ability to quickly learn complex concepts relating to market data processing systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
  • 7+ years experience in developing multi-threaded C++ software systems.
  • 3+ years experience in designing clean and extensible object oriented designs.

  • Experience in applying design patterns.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, SUSE Linux).
  • Experience with Linux development and debugging tools.
  • Knowledge of profiling, memory leak detection and other code analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD degree with relevant industry experience.
  • 10+ years experience in developing multi-threaded C++ software systems.
  • Experience in developing real-time or ultra-low latency C++ software systems.
  • Experience working on a fast-paced Agile development team.
  • Experience in Test-Driven Development methodology.
  • Experience with financial market data.
  • Experience with C++11 standard.
  • Experience with profiling, memory leak detection and other code analysis.
  • Ability to teach updated C++11 standards and design patterns to other developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build reusable and extensible software to process financial market data in an ultra-low latency system.
  • Refactor and test existing software implementations.
  • Work with other development groups on strategic initiatives.
  • Identify ways to automate testing, packaging, and deployment.
