The Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Connected Factory Intelligence & Automation organization has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) to support digital automation infrastructure in our Andover manufacturing site. The Automation Systems Engineering department is responsible for the development and deployment of manufacturing automation & digital solutions to maximize the operational efficiency of our factory and program customers. The core responsibilities of this role are the support and improvement of automation software and infrastructure that supports factory operations - sensors, machine integration, custom software applications, commercial software platforms.

What You Will Do
  • Collaborate across functions to support Operations Technology needs (Robotics equipment connectivity, Software Tools and Application Enhancements, Data migration, software dependencies etc.)
  • Create and enhance custom applications (built on Ignition platform) and commercial software applications for production management
  • Data extraction and processing to produce meaningful visualizations and metrics
  • Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy for the factory
  • Lead digital projects requested by the production floor and collaborate with the Connected Factory Intelligence team to deploy enterprise-level solutions across our Andover site
  • This is an ONSITE position
  • Relocation is NOT available for this position

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a BS in an Engineering field or the sciences (STEM) AND 5+ years of experience in software, controls, manufacturing, or automation; OR MS in Engineering or STEM field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in software development using a combination of tools such as Ignition, SQL, Python, C#, .NET, HTML5.
  • Experience diagnosing hardware and network-related issues effectively.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as ModbTCP, MQTT, Ethernet IP, RESTful APIs, SECS/GEM, etc.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps (or any other DevOps platform)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git
  • Understanding of automation technologies such as robots, PLCs, vision systems, SCADA systems, HMI, etc.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS and Azure, to effectively leverage our internal XetaCloud platform.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess requirements and benchmark solutions.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
