Position: OSP / Field Engineer
Location: Local to Yarmouth (MA), Brockton (MA), or Pawtucket (RI)
Rate: $45 - $55/hr depending on experience
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
We are seeking a skilled OSP / Field Engineer to support telecom engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with Verizon (or similar telecom providers), strong field engineering and site survey expertise, and familiarity with ICGS and fiber optic technologies.
This role requires active involvement throughout the lifecycle of service orders, including design, documentation, and material procurement. You'll work with systems such as CCP, vSAP, and other internal tools to ensure timely and accurate deployment of services.

Overview:
- Provisioning of service orders including TDM (T1/T3), Ethernet, and Dark Fiber services
- Circuit design using TIRKS (Trunks Integrated Record Keeping System)
- Transport design utilizing the Intelligent Edge Network (iEN) and GPON
- Routing of high-capacity services over fiber and copper networks
- Equipment configuration and card/port assignments
- Manage Capacity Creation Requests for hardware deployments, reconfigurations, decommissions, and FOA projects
- Design management for circuit additions, upgrades, repairs, and rearrangements
- Collaborate with OSP & ISP Engineering/Planning teams
- Maintain clear communication with field engineering, cross-functional teams, and management
- Drive engineering issues to resolution
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical, Science, or Mathematics fields
- Proficient in Windows-based programs and corporate database systems
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, SONET, TDM, T1s, ISDN
- Experience with fiber SONET/Transport systems (Tellabs, Alcatel Lucent, Adtran, Fujitsu, Ciena, Cisco)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with customers and team members
Desired Skills:
- Prior experience with telecom Outside Plant Engineering practices
- Familiarity with CAD Drawing tools such as IDDS and ICGS
