Job Details

Position: Window Engineer with Active Directory

Location: Chicago, IL (100% Remote)

Hiring: Fulltime with Hexaware Technologies

Key Responsibilities:

Active Directory Management:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Active Directory architecture, including forests, domains, trusts, and group policies.
  • Perform regular health checks, troubleshooting, and optimization of Active Directory services.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups to ensure proper access control and compliance.

Windows System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including updates, patches, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity, ensuring high reliability.
  • Implement and manage virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V or VMware) as required.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure security best practices are applied to Windows systems and Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Implement and manage policies for authentication, authorization, and auditing.
  • Conduct regular reviews and updates to meet compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or ISO 27001.

Backup and Recovery:

  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for Windows systems and Active Directory.
  • Test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with other IT teams to integrate Windows systems and Active Directory with other technologies.
  • Provide technical support for escalated issues related to Windows and Active Directory.
  • Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in Windows Server administration (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).
  • In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policy, DNS, and replication.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and their integration with Windows systems.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and best practices (e.g., PKI, Kerberos, LDAP).
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools and strategies.
