The Role:

The Program Lead for the Simulation & Test Automation Team is an individual contributor who has knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the space and exercises independent discretion and judgment on significant matters based on professional knowledge. The Program Lead has expertise responsible for tasks and work throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle including requirements definition, design and implementation, testing, and problem resolution. Agile, systems engineering, project management, requirements and embedded controls development and calibration knowledge are a definite plus. The drive and tenacity to grow technically and professionally while working on some of General Motor's most exciting features is a must! Follow/author documented procedures to calibrate systems to meet product goals, and provide feedback for continuous improvement

What You'll Do:
  • Lead/Support all Engine and Transmission Controls processes improvement (Software and Calibration for current and future vehicle electrical architectures)
  • Continuous update of Calibration Process in company tools based on corrective actions proposed and approved
  • Safety Critical Calibrations - Working with System Safety organization to support and drive continuous integration of Safety Critical validation processes
  • Support discussions and implementations of global vehicle development plans
  • Provide training to Global Calibration teams in Process of Engineering tool and in Calibration Process
  • Responsible for coordinate and lead Calibration process layered audit management

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering/computer science experience (controls or calibration preferred)
  • Experience successfully leading large and/or difficult projects with high levels of ambiguity
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills and a willingness to collaborate cross-functionally with different teams.


What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
  • M.S. Degree in Engineering or Computer Science; Master of Science in Engineering and/or Master of Business Administration
  • Experience with engine controls and calibration
  • Experience with embedded controls software
  • Experience with calibration tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, AVL CRETA)
  • Experience with PoE STAGES tool and Calibration Process
  • Experience as a Controls, Software, or Calibration Engineer
  • Comprehensive automotive system knowledge
