About this Position:

Job Title: Remote Role - Vue.JS Front-end Developer

Key Components of the Project:

  1. Assessment Development Platform

    • Build an intuitive, browser-based test authoring tool.

    • Enable flexible item databasing, graphics management, metadata tagging, and publishing tools.

  2. Secure Web-Based Test Delivery Application

    • Develop a student-friendly assessment platform for students with significant cognitive disabilities.

    • Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.0 AA) and integration with assistive technologies.

  3. Professional Development & Training Platform

    • Create a T&P (Training and Proficiency) system for teachers and test administrators.

    • Include training modules, quizzes, user tracking, and update communication features.

  4. AI-Powered Enhancements

    • Integrate AI tools for personalized feedback, writing support, and automated scoring.

  5. System Upgrades and Maintenance

    • Modernize front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., Vue.js).

    • Perform ongoing bug fixes, usability improvements, and feature enhancements.

  6. Data Management and Compliance

    • Ensure all systems follow FERPA, OWASP, and NIST 800-171 standards.

    • Support secure data sharing, backups, and anonymized reporting tools.

  7. Subscription and Access Control Systems

    • Implement pricing models, free trials, access restrictions, and account management capabilities.

  8. Unified API and Platform Integration

    • Develop centralized APIs for seamless access and data sharing across existing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop responsive, accessible user interfaces for web-based assessment, instructional, and professional development platforms.

  • Build and maintain front-end components using Vue.js, adhering to the latest best practices and compatibility standards.

  • Ensure cross-browser and cross-platform functionality, including support for Windows, macOS, Chromebooks, and iPads.

  • Implement WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility features, such as screen reader support, semantic HTML, ARIA tags, and keyboard navigation.

  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and back-end developers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional interfaces.

  • Participate in code reviews, front-end testing, and CI/CD processes to ensure quality and maintainability.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in front-end web development.

  • Expert-level proficiency in Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design techniques.

  • Proven experience implementing accessible features such as ARIA roles, screen reader compatibility, and semantic markup.

  • Strong understanding of browser rendering behavior, layout performance, and accessibility testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse, Axe).

  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows and integration in CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience working in educational, public sector, or K 12-focused web applications is a plus.
