Job Title: Cassandra Database Administrator / Engineer

Role Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cassandra DBA/Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our distributed Cassandra database systems. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and efficient data modeling for large-scale applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, configure, and maintain Cassandra clusters.
  • Monitor database health and performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataStax OpsCenter.
  • Implement backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
  • Optimize read/write performance and fine-tune Cassandra configuration settings.
  • Collaborate with application teams to design scalable data models.
  • Automate database maintenance using scripting (Python, Bash).
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity.
  • Provide 24/7 support for production environments as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Apache Cassandra (3.x or 4.x).
  • Proficient in CQL (Cassandra Query Language).
  • Experience with Data Modeling in NoSQL environments.
  • Familiarity with Linux-based systems and system administration.
  • Experience in DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines related to DB management.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Experience with monitoring tools: Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure is a plus.
