Job Title: QA Lead - XR
Location: Mountain View, CA (will move to San Jose in July)
Duration: 12 Months
Pay: up to $45/hr. on W2
As a Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to drive impact through the development and launch of complex, cross-functional projects. In addition, you serve as the focal point of the team, managing the various stakeholders and workflows involved in the project to ensure that qualitative and quantitative data is delivered smoothly and efficiently. You will be creative in managing ambiguity, debugging, reporting software issues, analyzing and reporting findings, and communicating with stakeholders to influence product development.
Responsibilities
Manage new feature tracking and progress, test requests, helping the team to land features on time and quality.
Manage, triage, monitor and report on bugs from multiple sources
Track and Triage known issues in coordination with TPM Leads and the QA team
Run weekly team meetings and provide guidance to team members as needed
Proactively problem-solving, adept at leveraging resources to showcase continued team success.
Mentor and partner closely with team members
Partner closely with testers to ensure test plans are executed in a timely fashion
Provide feedback and guidance on tester day-to-day work; device maintenance, test plans, execution and feedback reporting
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in UX, Technology, Computer Science, IT, Tech Management
Minimum of 2 years experience in technical testing, preferably in XR industry
Advanced knowledge of the full life-cycle of product development & data management
Ability to collaborate with SW engineers and report to senior managers
Minimum 1 year in test automation tools using Linux and ADB for curating test plans
Ability to formulate and communicate strategies from research and engineering feedback
Ability to evaluate product performance metrics, as well as diagnose and resolve issues
Ability to keep up with advancements in the field of technical product development
Excellent communication skills both verbal as well as written
Experience with triaging bugs using tools such as Jira, Issue Tracker, etc.
Knowledge and Skills
1-3 years experience in QA or usability testing with excellent performance
Experience leading individual contributors, initiatives, or training
Familiarity with testing processes, test plan creation, and the concepts of Sanity and Regression testing
Excellent skills in thinking through customer scenarios - Good analytical skills
Familiarity with release processes, with a focus on feature release, milestone release, and internal and external communication management
Technical background handling devices
Strong understanding of strengths and shortcomings of multiple different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase
The following skills or experiences are a plus:
Knowledgeable in Android Hardware life cycles
Understanding of Python and/or JavaScript for data analysis and dashboard creation
Ability to build out high level reports for SLT visibility on complex topics for top insights
