Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer Remote (U.S.)

Contract: 1 Year (extension possible)
Eligibility: Must be able to work on a W2 basis (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors). Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer.

Overview:
We are seeking a Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer to provide senior-level systems administration, maintenance, and support for mainframe environments. This role involves system configuration, performance monitoring, security administration, and support for day-to-day mainframe operations.

Minimum Requirements to Be Considered:

  • 5+ years z/OS Systems Programming.
  • 5+ years JES2, OMVS (z/OS Unix System Services), and SMS (Storage Management Subsystem).
  • 3+ years Top Secret Security (TSS).
  • 2+ years REXX.
  • Preferred: Experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration for CDC.
  • Working knowledge of JOBTRAC, BlueZone, VTAM/SWITCH, SMP/E, RMF, SMF, WLM, JCL, GRS, VSAM, and TSO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support for z/OS operating systems, upgrades, and releases.
  • Perform system administration functions including configuration, security, performance, and maintenance.
  • Support mainframe operations within the State s Consolidated Data Center Services (DCS).
  • Provide input on hardware capacity planning, performance tuning, and system parameters.
  • Administer CICS , IMS , SCLM, and ISV products such as BlueZone.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide technical consultation to IT teams.
  • Support integration testing, production control jobs, and job scheduling.
