Job Details

This position will be part of the Data Center team for a respectable financial institution The position will report to the VP of the Data Center Project Management team and will have responsibility for managing one or more data center related projects. The majority of any project work will involve internal MS coordination between Network; Enterprise Computing, and I.T. on the build-out; plus managing "white-space build-out activities such as the rack /stack of equipment; network patching; equipment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-level and detailed project plans and budgets for data center initiatives and components.
  • Manage, coordinate, and execute assigned tasks and resources efficiently.
  • Adapt existing best practices for project and operational management to align with project needs.
  • Communicate project status effectively to IT teams and departments.
  • Coordinate project activities among internal teams, external resources, engineering design teams, and contractors.
  • Engage with internal sourcing and legal teams to negotiate lease terms.
  • Oversee and execute the RFP process for securing vendors to support new projects.
  • Directly manage or collaborate with general contractors for the construction of new sites, including vendor management.
  • Ensure the development and timely completion of all IT-related deliverables.
  • Maintain and update the project SharePoint site for documentation and information, modifying its design and functionality as needed.
  • Require regular local travel to office and data center locations, with an on-site presence for most of the project duration.
  • May involve occasional out-of-area travel as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of Data Center Technology and Service Management.
  • Working background in Structured Cabling Systems
  • Understanding of Data Center best practices
  • Logistics

Education Level:
  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Hybrid 3 Days a Week Onsite
  • Onsite location: Ashburn, VA
