Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Data / Information Architect to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Databricks, Collibra, Unity Catalog, and Privacera, with a strong background in enterprise metadata management and data architecture. This is a fully remote role with a focus on implementing scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an enterprise metadata model in Collibra aligned with business goals.

  • Develop workflows integrating metadata with Unity Catalog and Synaptica to enhance discoverability.

  • Promote best practices for metadata governance and utilization across teams.

  • Implement and govern secure data access policies; experience with Privacera is a must.

  • Design and optimize distributed Databricks workspaces using Unity Catalog for scalable management.

  • Define and enforce standards for effective use of Databricks environments.

  • Align cross-functional teams (technical & non-technical) to a shared metadata and discovery strategy.

  • Develop and manage roadmaps, transition states, and measurable milestones.

  • Serve as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor.

  • Facilitate collaboration in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

  • Drive innovation in metadata, ontology, and data access/discovery practices.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Strong, hands-on experience with Databricks, Collibra, Unity Catalog, and Privacera.

  • Proven track record in managing and optimizing distributed Databricks environments.

  • Deep expertise in metadata modeling and enterprise data architecture.

  • Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and security best practices.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
