Job Details

OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION

The Network & Systems Administrator position provides technical and administrative support on every aspect of our IT infrastructure such as desktops, laptops, servers, switches, access points, Microsoft 365 and key corporate initiatives. In addition, the Network & Systems Administrator will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of all infrastructure items throughout the organization.

Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, processes, and service records.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for administration, usage, and disaster recovery.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers, workstations, and network.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.

Operational Management

  • Provide on-site and remote end user and server support with a focus on client satisfaction and technical excellence.
  • Monitor network, hardware and software performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Manage servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software.
  • Perform server and workstation audits, system backups and recovery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in Computer Science or IT related specialization, or equivalent experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES

Knowledge & Experience

  • Expert knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.
  • Strong technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, Terminal Services, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proven experience with VMware vSphere 6.x or higher
  • Expert level knowledge of TCP networking and other basic networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, VLANs, etc.)
