SAP Project Manager

Location: [Edison, NJ]

Job Summary:

The SAP Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of SAP implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring that SAP solutions meet business objectives and align with organizational strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-cycle SAP projects (implementation, rollout, upgrade, migration) across multiple modules such as MM, SD, FI, CO, PP, and HCM.

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and SAP solutions.

  • Manage internal teams, external vendors, and SAP consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery.

  • Conduct risk assessments, issue resolution, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Monitor project progress and prepare status reports for senior management.

  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, methodologies (ASAP / Activate), and corporate governance standards.

  • Facilitate user training, testing (UAT), and post-go-live support.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize SAP system performance post-deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).

  • Experience: 8 12 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in SAP project management.

  • Proven track record of successful SAP implementations or rollouts (ECC / S/4HANA).

  • Strong understanding of SAP modules and integration points.

  • Experience managing multi-location, cross-functional teams.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong project management skills (PMP / PRINCE2 certification preferred).

  • Familiarity with SAP Activate or ASAP methodology.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage budgets, risks, and timelines effectively.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

  • Leadership and team coordination skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • SAP Certified Application Associate or Project Manager

  • PMP / PRINCE2

  • Agile or Scrum Master Certification
