SAP Project Manager
Location: [Edison, NJ]
Job Summary:
The SAP Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of SAP implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing budgets and timelines, mitigating risks, and ensuring that SAP solutions meet business objectives and align with organizational strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full-cycle SAP projects (implementation, rollout, upgrade, migration) across multiple modules such as MM, SD, FI, CO, PP, and HCM.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and deliverables.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and SAP solutions.
Manage internal teams, external vendors, and SAP consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Conduct risk assessments, issue resolution, and change management throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor project progress and prepare status reports for senior management.
Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, methodologies (ASAP / Activate), and corporate governance standards.
Facilitate user training, testing (UAT), and post-go-live support.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize SAP system performance post-deployment.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
Experience: 8 12 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in SAP project management.
Proven track record of successful SAP implementations or rollouts (ECC / S/4HANA).
Strong understanding of SAP modules and integration points.
Experience managing multi-location, cross-functional teams.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong project management skills (PMP / PRINCE2 certification preferred).
Familiarity with SAP Activate or ASAP methodology.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage budgets, risks, and timelines effectively.
Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Leadership and team coordination skills.
Preferred Certifications:
SAP Certified Application Associate or Project Manager
PMP / PRINCE2
Agile or Scrum Master Certification
