Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. Each of these practices aligns to one of the eight core services Turnberry offers to clients. As a Data Analyst, you will join Turnberry's Data & Insights practice and service. Turnberry's Data & Insights service helps clients who seek visibility into company data, lack a single source of truth for accurate data, desire advanced analytics solutions, have data governance needs to ensure data quality, or have specific data challenges that may require an assessment, proof of concept, or custom solution not available in a typical out-of-the-box analytics methodology.
Responsibilities:
Conduct advanced analysis based on provided requirements, utilizing extremely large datasets and complex business requirements that typically involves multiple analytical techniques to drive meaningful change on KPIs and objectives established by the stakeholder
Assist to shape and provide additional value
Assist management in shaping methodology and baselining, showing independence for projects that are a refresh or similar in scope to past team projects
Know what technical tool to use to help lead the discussion
Incorporate standard best practices for industry measurement and KPIs, gauging statistical significance
Gather data through advanced SQL while querying across multiple platforms and demonstrating an understanding what is necessary for scripts to return relevant data while maintaining performance tuning and best practices
Demonstrate ownership in data gathering source choices and methodology as the SME for common SOT sources
Execute validation checks, including data element inconsistencies, working with leadership to design and implement solutions; also checking against standard business trends to identify outliers
Partner with DQ/architecture, shaping requirements and communicating needs, to ensure ingests/automations are structured in a way to meet the business goal
Demonstrate the ability to provide basic direction when quality issues or adjustments arise
Produce an often-complex collection of reports, graphs, summaries and presentations that convey analytic results in an easy to understand and storied manner and align with business needs
Maintain a focus on flow and context, ensuring analysis provides insights that tie to visuals and speaks to drivers and business strategy shifts where appropriate
Demonstrate the ability to clearly identify key points and callout deeper insights, or tie to other visuals, and how it relates to business performance through written communication within analysis
Develop appropriate visuals to ensure the story is conveyed, with the ability to add in multi-dimensional views beyond standard and recommending product output and design best suited to meet business and stakeholder needs
Review and polish analysis through iterative development, focusing on word choice, grammar and brand standards as well as seeking out and participating in peer reviews
Understand meeting etiquette, following guidance on when to make comments or ask questions with stakeholders
Confidently and respectfully responds to leader and/or stakeholder feedback in presentation
Create presentation messaging appropriate for the specific audience
Translate methodology and technical elements clearly and concisely
Display business acumen by leveraging recent or expected business performance when generating requirements
Understand and can speak to annual KPI trends including dependent KPIs
Demonstrate knowledge by identifying a shift from baseline performance and impact on business within analyses
Show expertise by confidently identifying and speaking to data resources and KPIs components within analysis
Can tie related KPI performance within analysis and identify co-dependent KPIs. Demonstrated by anticipating potential follow-up questions
Understand the importance, and basic elements, of project planning, and can create plan independently
Follow project plan and communicates progress/roadblocks proactively; understand level of details required in communication, respect project timeline and maintain clear/concise documentation on requirements, project goals, methodology and output
Initiate relevant SME and POC reviews with leader to ensure buy-in and alignment
Daily utilization of JIRA for tracking all tasks and projects
Support all department objectives and participate in work streams, processes, training, etc., as appropriate
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary
Promote a culture of excellence, meaningful data and reporting, data driven discussions, actionable insights, knowledge sharing and teamwork while maintaining an environment that is professionally aggressive
Ensure all projects and data developed is value adding and provides actionable insights
Ensure appropriate level of statistical significance in insights, help educate and hold stakeholders and team accountable in their design and interpretation of analyses
Formulate and test hypotheses, weigh alternatives, and determine appropriate recommendations for actionable insights
Possess a balance of general business knowledge, ability to work with multi-million record relational databases, analytical acumen and presentation skills
Perform in depth research on root cause of data anomalies that are uncovered through normal course of analysis
Design new methods and best practices for analysis and presentation of comparative data, as well as for processes, forecasting, and planning

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, MBA preferred
Business, Business Intelligence, Information Systems, Information Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics experience
3-4 years related experience

The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $160,000 or the hourly equivalent.
