Senior DevOps Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer with our client in the Financial Tech Industry located in Irving, TX. This is a for this direct hire, full time job opportunity.

Description:
The Senior DevOps Engineer will lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of infrastructure, pipelines, and environments supporting both traditional applications and AI/ML toolsets. This role will integrate DevSecOps practices into our delivery lifecycle, optimize a multi-cloud and on-prem operation, and ensure system reliability, performance, and security. The position requires hands-on expertise in CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, AI model deployment, and site reliability engineering (SRE).

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure secure, scalable, and automated deployment of software and AI/ML models.
• Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines across diverse technology stacks.
• Implement DevSecOps practices, embedding security into infrastructure and delivery workflows.
• Support hybrid cloud/on-prem environments, legacy integration, and modern microservices.
• Establish and monitor system reliability, uptime, and incident response protocols.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices across teams.
• Ensure conformity to key deployment strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure & Deployment:

• Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, Brainboard, or similar tools.
• Build and maintain containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Automate deployment pipelines for both traditional applications and AI/ML workloads.

• DevSecOps:

• Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines (code scanning, policy enforcement).
• Manage secrets, keys, and credential workflows securely.
• Partner with security teams to meet regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

• AI Toolset Integration:

• Deploy and maintain AI/ML models in production.
• Support version control, testing, and rollback strategies for AI services.
• Collaborate with data scientists and prompt engineers to streamline model operationalization.
• Closely collaborate with AI engineers to continually grow and evolve AI offerings.

• Site Reliability Engineering:

• Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and related uptime metrics.
• Identify and implement key tools to monitor system health.
• Lead incident management and root cause analysis.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies.

• Collaboration & Leadership:

• Mentor team members on DevOps, security, and SRE practices.
• Collaborate with product, development, and infrastructure teams.
• Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and tools.

Performance Measures:

• Uptime and reliability metrics (SLAs, SLOs, RTO/RPO adherence).
• Deployment frequency, pipeline efficiency, and rollback success rates.
• Security compliance (vulnerability remediation, secure pipeline audits).
• AI/ML model deployment stability and observability success.
• Reduction of manual intervention through automation.
• Team enablement and cross-functional collaboration feedback.

Systems Used:

• CI/CD Tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD
• Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
• Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS
• IaC: Terraform, Brainboard
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry
• Security: HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Snyk, Checkov (or similar)
• AI/ML Ops: MLflow, SageMaker, Kubeflow (or similar)

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum Years Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Advanced knowledge of CI/CD pipeline design and management.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with AI/ML model deployment and MLOps workflows.
• SRE knowledge, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgeting.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication abilities.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
• Familiarity with Kafka or event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to legacy system modernization projects.
• Certification in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, or security (e.g., CKA, AWS DevOps Pro).
• Experience with Fintech platforms or data pipeline operations.

Compensation:
Salary range from $135,000 to $165,000
