Join Tesla's Attributes Engineering Team as a Vehicle Test Engineer focused on chassis and vehicle dynamics, with potential exposure to other full vehicle testing areas. Responsibilities
- Oversee specific vehicles from the attributes fleet, ensuring vehicle health, managing reworks, and handling hardware and software troubleshooting
- Develop and manage test plans with the program attribute lead to ensure completion of development objectives
- Coordinate vehicle transports, consumables planning, and communication with test facilities and workshops during testing activities
- Execute standardized full vehicle tests in chassis, vehicle dynamics, and brakes, including objective characterization and subjective evaluation
- Collaborate with attributes program managers and leads to align vehicle test plans with design team release schedules
- Set up instrumentation equipment such as accelerometers, damper pots, IMUs, steering and pedal actuators, and wheel force transducers
- Conduct component-level testing, including operation of test rigs and basic data analysis
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive test engineering
- Proficiency in vehicle instrumentation and data analysis using industry-standard tools
- Experience with vehicle dynamics post-processing coding environments
- Familiarity with MoTeC or similar data logging and analysis platforms
- Experience with MS Project and Jira is preferred

$84,000 - $204,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefitsPay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
