Purpose:

This Engineer will support the Wound Closure & Healing and Biosurgery (WCHB) and R&D Life Cycle Management (LCM) group. They will apply their scientific expertise as the R&D representative on cross-functional project teams to ensure robust designs, scientific rigor, and data driven decision making to meet the projects goals, objectives and milestones. The candidate will manage the design controls, testing and product design elements including new materials, design changes, cost improvement programs, business continuity projects.

You will be responsible for;
  • Be a creative, hands-on scientist/engineer who will participate in the design, development, and commercialization of medical devices including those of formulated, biologic and mechanical design in nature
  • Be involved in product line extensions, existing product improvements, and commercial product support projects
  • Confirm product and process change impact on user needs, customer requirements and translate them into design requirements and detailed specifications
  • Perform detailed design, material selection and engineering analysis of changes
  • Test and examine product performance in bench top testing
  • Support Design Control activities, such as strategies, technical and design reviews, documentation and Design History Files including regulatory filings
  • Support Design Verification and Design Validation activities such as developing protocols, performing testing, analyzing results, and authoring completion reports
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes and requirements with focus on textiles
  • Work effectively face-to-face and remotely on multi-functional project teams

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent in an engineering/ science field
  • Advanced degree is preferred
  • Textiles experience is helpful
  • Knowledge of Design Controls is helpful
  • Device design experience is helpful
  • Work experience in late stage R&DE
  • Experience with regulated products, devices, is helpful
  • Understanding of basic statistics is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital
  • Shown problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal relationship and communication skills are vital
  • This position is based in Raritan, NJ and requires up to 10% travel both Domestic and international

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$74,000-$115,000

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
