Title: Ride & Show Electrical Designer

Summary:

CEI s entertainment client is adding a highly skilled and motivated Ride & Show Electrical Designer to their team based out of Anaheim, CA. They are seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Designer to provide CAD design layouts and detailed drawings. This role involves working closely with multiple departments to ensure designs meet both project requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and participate in project design reviews.
  • Determine and ensure appropriate documentation for proper releases using Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) and Operational Test Procedures (OTP).
  • Manage release and design control procedures using Engineering Communication Forms (ECF) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Research historical data to identify project requirements and design solutions.
  • Select appropriate materials, processes, and vendors for design projects.
  • Ensure design compliance with applicable codes, regulations (including California Ride Law), and both internal and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors and shops to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Maintain and detail project documentation in the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS).
  • Stay updated with the latest industry technologies and best practices, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in electrical controls design within a multidisciplinary team.
  • AA/AS degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Exceptional skills in AutoCAD (professional training/certification required) and EPLAN.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, including electrical/mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in materials (metals, composites, plastics), welding, finishing processes, and ASME standards (Y14 & Y14.5).
  • Expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision and thrive under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all management levels.
  • Willingness to learn new software quickly and work both independently and within a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, nights, holidays, and variable shifts; including overtime as needed.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties including sitting for long periods, climbing, crawling, and accessing confined spaces.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a theme park design environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering.
  • Additional certifications in GD&T and EPLAN.
