Software Development Engineer 3 (Unreal Engine)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Redmond, WA that is seeking a Software Development Engineer 3 responsible for improving and fixing issues impacting game stability and developer workflows, including data validation, test automation and Unreal Engine upgrade integrations.

Responsibilities:
* Expand and maintain data validation systems
* Implement data validation telemetry
* Improve validation performance
* Add new validators and improve content creator workflows
* Engine stability and maintenance
* Integrate Unreal Engine service releases, assist with major upgrades
* Investigate and fix issues arising from Unreal upgrade integrations
* Monitor daily test automation results and investigate failures
* Assess ownership of test failures and fix or hand off where appropriate
* Improve and expand engine test coverage
* Implement Unreal editor and automation telemetry

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience working in C++
* 5+ years of experience with Unreal Engine development; Bonus for experience with data validation and Gauntlet automation
* Proficiency in writing efficient and effective unit tests
* Experience using data and observability solutions to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for automation and build health
* Experience with Perforce source control system
* Experience with CI/CD tools, e.g. Jenkins, ADO
* Knowledge of software development best practices, including agile methodologies and continuous integration and deployment
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis of critical problems
* Outstanding communication and writing skills, including ability to ask questions or share information with clarity and brevity in a team-oriented environment
* Experience with Jira work item tracking
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Nice to Haves:
* C# proficiency
* Experience with profiling tools, e.g. PIX, Unreal profiler

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
