Job Details
Role : Cloud Platform Engineer Google Cloud Platform
Location : Remote
Duration: Long term
Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation: Architect, design, and implement scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, and serverless technologies.
- Cloud Resource Management: Provision, configure, and manage Google Cloud Platform resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts and processes to streamline infrastructure provisioning, application deployments (CI/CD pipelines), and operational tasks.
- Containerization and Orchestration: Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, preferably GKE).
- Monitoring and Observability: Set up and maintain comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting systems using tools like Google Cloud Operations Suite (formerly Stackdriver), Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
- Security: Implement and enforce security best practices in the cloud environment, including IAM, network security, data encryption, and compliance standards.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using tools like Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software development, SRE, and security teams to understand their needs and provide effective platform solutions and support.
- Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and outages, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventative measures.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear and concise documentation for infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Evangelism and Training: Advocate for platform engineering best practices and provide guidance and training to development teams on utilizing the platform effectively
