Job Details

Highly experienced Jira Architect with a strong background in Linux server administration, Jira Data Center architecture, and enterprise-scale Atlassian deployments. This role will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of Jira environments including major/minor upgrades, custom workflows, scripting, and third-party integrations.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, with a proven ability to drive architectural decisions, automate processes, and mentor team members
Key Responsibilities:
Architect, implement, and manage Atlassian Jira (Data Center) solutions with multi-node clusters, high availability, and performance optimization.
Plan and execute Jira Server to Data Center migrations, ensuring zero data loss and minimal downtime.
Perform major and minor upgrades of Jira, Confluence, and associated Atlassian tools in complex environments.
Manage underlying Linux servers and PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle databases tuning, backup/restore, and monitoring.
Customize Jira via:
o Advanced workflows
o Groovy scripting (ScriptRunner)
o Automation rules
o Custom fields, screens, permissions, and schemes
Integrate Jira with third-party systems like LDAP/Active Directory, CI/CD pipelines, ITSM tools, and APIs.
Conduct root cause analysis and performance troubleshooting across Jira stack (application, DB, OS).
Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and train users/admins on best practices.
Collaborate with IT security, DevOps, and business stakeholders to enforce governance, access controls, and compliance.
Lead and support platform scalability efforts node scaling, load balancer configurations, failover strategies.
Required Skills & Experience:
8+ years of experience in Jira Administration/Architecture.
3+ years hands-on experience with Jira Data Center deployment and management.
Expertise in Linux server administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and shell scripting.
Strong knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL / MySQL / Oracle DB.
Experience in migrating from Server to Data Center or Cloud environments.
Proficient with ScriptRunner, REST APIs, and Groovy scripting for automation/customization.
Experience with integrating Jira with tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Git, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps.
Proven experience in workflows, custom fields, permissions schemes, notification schemes.
Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills with ability to train and mentor technical and non-technical users.
