Job Summary

A Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for designing and maintaining cloud-based systems. Leveraging industry best practices they develop and implement cloud applications, migrate existing on-premise applications to the cloud, and debug cloud stacks. You will be responsible for orchestrating cloud organizations in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure using Terraform. Your expertise will be pivotal in designing and maintaining new infrastructure through automation using Terraform. Additionally, you will lead the migration of existing on-premises applications to the cloud and establish new cloud-native applications.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with Infrastructure Ops teams, Product Managers, and Application Owners to ensure smooth deployment and operation of systems.
Configure and administer cloud organizations in various clouds using Terraform, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, availability, and security.
Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small-scale systems / environments.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of various development, testing, automation tools, and IT infrastructure.
Leverage automation tools to monitor and maintain system configuration, health, and reliability to support business process requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments.
Communicate status and risks to team members and the product teams.
Help automate and streamline operations and processes.
Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations.
Demonstrated ability to write technical instructions and document source code. Design and implement automation solutions using Ansible to streamline IT operations.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) with at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Preferences
Experience writing Hashicorp Terraform configurations and modules.
Experience in DevOps and GitOps models with infra-as-code, config-as-code, policy-as-code, etc.
Proficient in translating designs into fully developed Terraform code.
Strong knowledge of AWS Cloud, certification preferred. AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform desirable.
Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, subnets, routing, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.
Experience in enterprise-scale environments, building highly available IaaS and PaaS
\solutions.
Understanding of landing zones, cloud-native security, monitoring and logging tools, and Well-Architected Frameworks.
Experience with container related technologies and CICD tools - GitHub, pipelines, repos, etc.
Experience in programming languages such as: JavaScript, and Python.
Experience with infrastructure automation tools/configuration management like: Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.
Proficient in translating designs into fully developed Terraform code.
Exposure to Cloud logging, monitoring, and observability tools.
Proficient in at least one scripting language (i.e. Bash, Python).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work with team.
Familiarity with IAM (Identity and Access Management) concepts and tools in cloud platforms to ensure secure and controlled access to cloud resources. Familiarity with Service Now development.
Awareness of compliance requirements, industry regulations, relevant to the cloud domain (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, FISMA, etc.)
Eagerness to actively engage in professional development opportunities such as certifications, workshops, or conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in cloud technologies.
