Role: Mainframe Developer

Location: Greenwood Village, CO (Onsite)

Contract: 12+ Months

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust mainframe systems and applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS, and will be responsible for ensuring optimal system performance through efficient coding, testing, and debugging practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe software applications.
  • Review code and design documents to ensure quality and performance standards.
  • Modify and enhance existing applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
  • Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe systems.
  • Collaborate with remote teams to support and troubleshoot application issues.
  • Deliver high-priority and critical changes in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders and project managers.
  • Participate in on-call rotation (once every 5 weeks).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software development within IBM Mainframe environments.
  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and IBM ZOS toolsets.
  • Strong understanding of DB2, IDCAMS, SyncSort, File-Master, and file transmission protocols (FTP/NDM).
  • Familiarity with tools such as REXX, Endevor, Clarity, and Jira is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in technical documentation and design writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
