Job Details

  • Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and related technologies.

  • Develop systematic processes and frameworks to improve application performance and reliability.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex mainframe system issues.

  • Participate in system integration, testing, and deployment activities.

  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Maintain documentation for system designs, coding standards, and operational procedures.

  • Optimize batch processing and online transaction management systems.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing mainframe applications.

  • Mentor junior developers and share knowledge on mainframe best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer with a focus on systematic mainframe programming.

  • Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and IMS.

  • Experience with mainframe utilities and tools (e.g., SDSF, CA7, File-Aid).

  • Good understanding of mainframe architecture, batch and online processing.

  • Ability to design and implement systematic and repeatable processes for mainframe applications.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with performance tuning and debugging mainframe applications.

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with z/OS environment and tools.

  • Knowledge of automation frameworks and DevOps practices in a mainframe context.

  • Familiarity with modern integration tools and APIs.

  • Certifications related to mainframe technologies.
