Job description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong QA Analyst to join our data engineering and quality team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SQL, hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or Microsoft Azure, and a working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). You will be responsible for validating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and automating testing processes for cloud-based data solutions.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test cases and test scripts focused on data validation, transformation logic, and data movement.
- Write complex SQL queries to validate ETL processes, data migration, and reporting logic.
- Review and test SSIS packages to ensure accurate data transformation and load processes.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into QA strategies.
- Perform validation of data flows in cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform / Azure), ensuring scalability and integrity.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Document QA processes, test plans, test results, and defects in a structured manner.
- Automate regression and smoke tests for data pipelines and dashboards.
Candidate Profile:
- 3+ years of experience in QA/data validation or a similar role.
- Strong SQL skills ability to write and debug complex queries, stored procedures, and validate large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow) or Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage).
- Working knowledge of SSIS for testing and understanding ETL packages.
- Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-native storage solutions.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development practices.
