Essential Duties
1. Perform a diverse range of analytical duties in the development of technology solutions for business processes. 2. Plan, organize, and define requirements, methods, and end user objectives, coordinate effort with team members, other IT staff, users, and vendors. 3. Interview, analyze, and document end-user processes and systems requirements for enhancement and/or workflow improvements or new system development. 4. Develop and execute system test plans to ensure application performance aligns to specifications. 5. Prepare technical reports, design workflow maps or other documents to facilitate system/s understanding. 6. May lead segments of larger projects, develop trainings, presentations, and communications.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree. Five years of related experience in analysis and programming of medium to large-scale systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Position Focus:
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates user needs to create solutions that support overall business strategies. Documents system/process requirements, defines scope and objectives, and creates system specifications that drive process improvement, system development, and implementation. Incumbents function as liaisons between IT and users and have both business and technical expertise. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
As a Business Systems Analyst 3 on the HRISS team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating user needs to create solutions that support the functional areas of Core HCM, recruiting, learning, compensation, payroll, benefits, leaves, time, and absence management.
You will document system requirements, define scope and objectives, and liaise between HR and business users across the University.
Your role will include leading segments of larger projects and fully leading small to medium projects, developing comprehensive system solutions and test plans, and contributing to process improvements.
You will take ownership of the scope definition and overall documentation process for the projects you lead, ensuring clarity and alignment with business objectives. In addition, you will be responsible for conducting impact analysis for proposed system changes and assessing the effects on processes, data flow, and integrations across the organization.
As a BSA 3, you will lead advanced configuration and customization of HR systems, ensuring that solutions meet the complex needs of the business. You will independently troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex system issues and provide support to ensure system performance and integrity. In addition to managing system configurations, you will support integration efforts between HR systems and other enterprise platforms, ensuring seamless data flow and system functionality.
You will also play a critical role in understanding the industry landscape and trends relevant to the area you support and the touchpoints. You will apply this knowledge to ensure system configurations and business solutions align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will enable you to anticipate shifts in the industry, recommend proactive system enhancements, and support the organization's ability to remain competitive.
In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you are expected to engage in ongoing self-development actively. You will stay current with emerging HR technologies, industry trends, and advancements in platforms such as Workday to enhance your capabilities and contribute more effectively to your team. This may include obtaining relevant certifications, attending professional development workshops, or pursuing additional learning opportunities that keep your skills up-to-date and aligned with the needs of the business.
You will be a key contributor to data validation and reporting initiatives, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data across HR systems. As part of your role, you will guide and or assist in the development and execution of reports and data analyses to meet HR and business objectives within the area you support.
You will collaborate closely with HR clients and other stakeholders across the University to ensure smooth communication and implement system enhancements, maintaining the stability and integrity of HR technology solutions.
Additionally, you will mentor junior analysts, guiding them through best practices in system configuration, documentation, and testing.
Furthermore, you will participate in at least one HRISS initiative, helping to drive improvements or innovations in HR technology processes. This may include initiatives related to advanced process automation, advanced integration improvements, new HR technology implementations, or engaging in other non-technology-related HRISS/HR Operations/HR/IT initiatives.
