Job Details
We are looking for a Desktop/Field Services Technician to provide comprehensive support for end-user computing, including software/hardware installations, upgrades, and maintenance of desktop/laptop systems and peripherals. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting desktop environments within a Windows/TCPIP infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, monitor, and maintain desktop software, hardware, and peripherals, including support for a mobile workforce.
- Provide consultation and assistance to users on all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software.
- Take ownership of technical issues, ensuring end-to-end problem resolution and communication with employees.
- Provide on-site user training as necessary.
- Resolve and close tickets and work orders related to end-user desktops and peripherals.
- Respond to escalated support issues from the Helpdesk.
- Contribute as a project team member to global desktop installation and upgrade projects.
- Diagnose and resolve issues remotely using remote tools.
- Collaborate with other departments to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Document customer interactions and maintain asset records in the incident management system.
- Perform data recovery and data migration from hard drives.
- Support remote access, including VPN and wireless/broadband connectivity for laptops.
- Install and configure local and network printers.
