Title: Data Quality Analyst (Contract / Fractional)
Location: Remote (U.S. Based)
Type: Contract | Estimated 30-40 hours/week (flexible)
Overview:
We're seeking a highly analytical and collaborative Data Quality Analyst to support a data clean-up initiative involving operational and financial data from external partner companies. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup-like environment, enjoys solving data inconsistencies, and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze large datasets (millions of rows) to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and anomalies.
- Map and validate data from multiple sources to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and business context.
- Communicate directly with external partner companies to request missing data or clarify discrepancies.
- Propose solutions for data quality issues, including new data sources or process improvements.
- Document findings, decisions, and data lineage clearly and thoroughly.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data quality analysis and data mapping.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on identifying and resolving data gaps.
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation (especially using pandas).
- Excellent communication skills - able to work closely with internal teams and external partners.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment with evolving priorities.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience working with operational or financial data.
- Familiarity with small business data environments or blue-collar industries.
- Prior experience in a startup or small team setting.
