Structural Analysis Engineer (Entry and Associate Levels)

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking abroad range of experience levels to include Entry Level (Level 1)and Associate (Level 2) Structural Analysis Engineers to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52) programs.

Position Responsibilities (Level 1):
  • Performs limited structural analysis using well defined analysis tools to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Participates in various test activities substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements
  • Works under close supervision.

Position Responsibilities (Level 2):
  • Performs basic structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools, to support drawing release and limited support to the Manufacturing Review Board process.
  • Develops complex structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity.
  • Performs basic structural analysis to support response to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation and regulatory agency coordination.
  • Performs structural analysis to support trade studies and configuration development.
  • Creates strength check notes to document analysis. Provides inputs to formal documentation, to show compliance with Boeing, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and supports in-house software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Assists in the research and preparation of data, to support definition of structural design requirements.
  • Works under general supervision.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience) (Level 1):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Exposure to Finite Element Models (FEM) in academic and classwork
  • Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skill

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Clearance
  • Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models
  • 1 or more years of experience in structural analysis
  • Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran
  • Experience validating or verifying finite element model results
  • Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)
  • Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives - Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)

Summary pay range: Level 1 - $61,200 - 82,800

Summary Pay Range Level 2 - $71,400 - 96,600
