Ericsson Inc. does not sponsor US work authorizations for this job position including H-1B, O-1, L-1 and TN. Ericsson also does not hire F-1's working onfor this position.
About this opportunity
At Ericsson, we design and deliver the silicon and system on chip (SoC) technology that powers next generation telecommunications - including advanced 5G, edge computing, and network processing platforms. As a SoC Engineering Intern, you will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment alongside hardware, firmware, and verification engineers to build, test, and refine SoC components that form the backbone of Ericsson's product lines.
What you will do
Assisting in the design, verification, or integration of SoC components (e.g., digital logic, memory, I/O interfaces, interconnects, peripheral IPs)
Supporting RTL development and/or participating in pre silicon verification flows (writing testbenches, creating simulation scenarios, running RTL simulations)
Collaborating with Physical Design / Timing / Power teams to help analyze performance, area, and power metrics
Debugging design or verification issues; working with senior engineers to troubleshoot hardware related bugs or mismatches between design and specification
Automating tasks using scripting languages (Python, Tcl, shell, etc.) to improve the design and verification infrastructure
Participating in design reviews, code reviews, and discussing trade offs (area vs. power vs. speed)
Documenting your work clearly: reporting test results, raising issues, tracking them to resolution
The skills you bring
2.7+ GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, Master's, or PhD on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university at the time of the internship
Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer or Co-Op term
Current undergraduate (or early graduate) student in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Solid foundation in digital logic design (e.g., combinational / sequential logic, registers, clocks, memory)
Experience or coursework in RTL design (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL, or similar) or exposure to hardware description languages
Familiarity with simulation and verification tools or methodologies (e.g. RTL simulation, testbenches, assertions, maybe even coverage)
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python is highly useful; others such as C/C++ or Tcl are a plus)
Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn quickly
Good communication skills; ability to work in a team
