Position Description

Client has an immediate need for a Product Owner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies.

  • This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities

The Product Owner will lead the strategic direction and execution of product initiatives within the Single Family Acquisitions, Custody, and Secondary Market domains. This role involves managing the product backlog, collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging stakeholders, and ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives. The Product Owner will also oversee production issue triaging, regulatory compliance, customer training, and product rollout strategies, while maintaining the integrity and quality of product features.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

  • Deep domain expertise in Single Family Acquisitions, Custody, and Secondary Market
  • Strong understanding of industry-standard XML formats (e.g., MISMO/ULDD, 1003/ULAD, UCD)
  • Experience with data mapping and working with structured data
  • Proven success in Scaled Agile environments
  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies is highly desirable
  • Ability to synthesize stakeholder insights and translate them into actionable product features
  • Skilled in triaging production issues, assessing impact, and coordinating resolutions
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Experience in risk and controls related to product development
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills across technical and business teams
  • Ability to create and deliver end-user training materials, including webinars and focus groups
  • Experience in customer testing and feedback loops to refine product features
  • Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe PO/PM) are a plus
  • Minimum of 7 10 years of experience in product management or ownership, preferably within the mortgage or financial services industry

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
