Job Details

TIAA has an opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Automation. This position will designs information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. Under limited supervision, this role will install, configure and maintain the organization's Workload Automation systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Work collaboratively with internal infrastructure and application support teams to implement solutions and improve overall performance of our workload/scheduling environments across on-prem and public cloud solutions.

Formulates system scope through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems.

Evaluates and implements changes to existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.

Reviews flow charts, models, and procedures and feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.

Reviews technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.

Collaborates with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.

Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.

Educates end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training materials and conducting demos.

Evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of application operations and troubleshooting problems.

Provides technical expertise for the CA Workload Automation AE tool.

Develops and maintains strategies for technologies and services for the AutoSys Workload Automation tool.

Proficient in designing EEM policies.

Provides process and performance oversight.

Analyzes performance of the environment to provide and execute on recommendations to improve overall performance of the tool.

Work as a mentor with junior/mid-level team members.

Create and maintain standards, policies and procedures for various scheduling activities.

Drives issue resolution and communication.

Work with product vendors to implement and manage the workload automation tools, and its supporting infrastructure, in our environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Work Experience
  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work

Career Level
7IC

Required:
  • 3+ years' experience working the AutoSys Workload Automation tool set
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google

Preferred:
  • Good understanding of system engineering methodology and practice
  • Experience in project lifecycle management

Base Pay Range: $94,500/yr. - $163,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
