Job Description

The EDE (IBM Cloud Pak for Data) Platform Support Engineer will be part of a team that empowers Lockheed Martin to leverage data and AI to drive business insights, improve decision-making, and accelerate our digital transformation journey. This role is a blend of Systems Support Engineering and Data Engineering, providing front-line troubleshooting, triage, and issue / ticket resolution for internal clients. The position will support a 24-X 7 weekly on-call rotation schedule and may include occasional off-shift hours, including weekends.

Core responsibilities will include:
Working as a senior-level support engineer with stakeholders, architects, vendors to resolve technical issues with large scale enterprise applications
Application performance tuning, scaling, connectivity security, including cloud based infrastructure components
Running tests/test scripts and troubleshooting issues
Interpreting systems metrics for problem resolution
Working in Agile (Scrum/Jira) fast paced environment
Architecting application landscapes, solutions for deployment within LM

While this role is scoped as a full-time telecommuting (Remote) role, co-location with a major LM facility is strongly preferred, especially our Puerto Rico location.

Basic Qualifications

ship is required for this role
Knowledge of cloud based system; AWS cloud experience with core services
Experience working with and helping with data solutions and pipelines on AWS Cloud Platform.
Experience and knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps, Github capabilities in a data environment
Basic knowledge of any one database technology (e.g. Oracle, MysQL, SqlServer, Db2 etc).
Understanding of CP4D Platform (IBM Cloud Pak for Data), Services architecture plus security.
Significant experience with software / systems support, preferably in a ticket-based tech support / help desk environment
Ability and willingness to support a 24-X 7 weekly on-call rotation schedule (including off-shift hours)

Desired skills

Desired skills :
Experience with IBM Cloud Pak Services (IKC, Watson Studio, Data Stage, Watson Query) highly desired.
Prior experience or knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift based deployments
Understanding of Data Lifecycle Management.
Hands on Expertise in AWS Services EC2, RDS, VPC, Storage, IAM etc.
Strong SQL and/or Python knowledge
Experience with Data Lakes, Data warehouses and Big Data environments.
RHEL scripting, Shells Bash, Ksh etc.
Experience with JDBC, ODBC, Connectors, API based access. REST API calls.
Experience with DB2 highly desired.

Ability to work remotely

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement
