Role: Design Engineer
Duration: 12+ Months
Location: North Austin, TX (Onsite Role)
Job Description-
This job is targeted toward an Electrical Engineer (EE) or Systems Engineer who can handle both design and integration tasks across hardware systems. It involves working on PCB (Printed Circuit Board) or cable design, integrating these components into larger systems, and ensuring they perform well through appropriate measurement and testing techniques.
Most important:
The role will include:
Interacting with a wide variety of customers, external alliance partners and suppliers in support of designing, implementing and sustaining of custom solutions
Generating requirements documents, statements of work and Bills of Materials
Defining and implementing project plans, managing milestones and holding reviews to assure systems meet requirements and readiness for deployment
Specifying, designing, prototyping, testing, and deploying turnkey automated solutions
Directing support personnel, managing project technical deliverables, guiding technical decisions and driving field found issues to resolution
Traveling as needed (possibly up to 25%) domestically and abroad in support of project objectives
Experience and Skill Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
B. S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering Technology
Minimum of 7 years relevant industry experience in a Hardware Systems Design Role or a Test Engineering Design Role
Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architectures
Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#)
Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
o Sources of measurement error
o Appropriate selection of instrumentation and equipment
o Understanding of schematics and wiring diagrams
o Integration of hardware and software
o Bill of Materials creation and review
o Familiarity with CAD and PCB design tools
o Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
