Client is looking for a Quality Inspector 1. The Quality Inspector will perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, load tests, etc.) on mechanical, electrical or structural components or systems to ensure conformance with the quality requirements for spacecraft components and associated systems. This position will serve on-site at Deployables Operating Unit in Goleta, CA.
Responsibilities:
Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products.
Perform required inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional, etc.) on spacecraft components.
Uses various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machine.
This job has decision-making responsibilities with regards to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.
Inspects and performs tests on mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft components and sub-assemblies. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.
Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
Basic Qualifications for Quality Inspector:
High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role
Experience utilizing various measuring devices, such as caliper, micrometer, comparator, gages, pin gages, and other inspection tools
Knowledge of GD&T with the ability to read and comprehend detail control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, Specifications and related criteria

Preferred Qualifications for Quality Inspector:
Strong Computer skills
Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
Experience in Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
