US Production Support Team Overview

The US Production Support team is one of three global teams supporting over 40 DWS financial and regulatory applications that execute around the clock. We work closely with on and offshore teams, as well as with our global user base to insure our applications process, report, and exchange data with other companies and agencies around the world. Keeping these processes running on schedule is required to meet our internal and external clients' needs.

Role Details

As a Production/Application Support Specialist you will:

Your position will be to take part in working in partnership with our global internal teams and leading our offshore teams to maintain the stability of our applications and environments. You will have both a hands-on and leadership role in maintaining the stability of our applications and environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting multiple applications, of varying complexities and technical scope, in the production environment.
  • Owning the Incident, Problem and Knowledge Management processes at the operational, functional, and technical levels.
  • Analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving live production issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Performing daily pro-active health checks of the environment, taking preventative measures, and automating these checks, where possible, with the assistance of L3 Support.
  • Reviewing, approving, implementing, and verifying scheduled production changes. This will include taking turns chairing CAB meetings.
  • Coordinating and communicating between multiple technology stakeholders (Vendors, Infra Support, DBAs and the Dev teams) and functional stakeholders (senior management, business users) during tactical (Incident) and strategic (problem, change) issue remediation. Presenting status updates to application owners.
  • Supporting the Service Readiness framework and on-boarding new applications into production.
  • Managing service level adherence of supported applications.
  • Identifying Service Improvement opportunities and presenting well-developed ideas to management.
  • Coordinating with geographically diverse teams in India and Europe.
  • Sharing acquired knowledge and fostering best practices.
  • Monitoring and managing non-functional requirements such as performance, availability, and capacity.
We are looking for
  • Require strong hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, Unix commands, shell scripting and scheduling (Control-M preferred).
  • Experience managing hosting services and application servers
  • Google (or other) Cloud Production Support.
  • Hands-on experience with Geneos, Splunk, JIRA, Confluence.
Licenses Required / Preferred:
  • Must be ITIL V3 Foundation certified, at minimum.
  • Google Cloud certifications preferred
