Title: Application Java Developer/Application Developer

Duration: Contract (1 yr)

Location: Toronto, ON-Hybrid (3x/week in office)

Shift/Core Hours: 37.5

Compensation: $75-$77/Hour

Interview Process: 2 Rounds

Day to day responsibilities:

• Bug fixes, standard SDLC


• Perform in a high pressure environment if there is a major issue in the application


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact financial technology solutions.


• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, and SQL.


• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.


• Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.


• Ensure high-quality code through unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.


• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.


• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

Must-haves/key skills needed

• Hands on go getter, pick up a task and come forward to get their new task. Should enjoy coding.


• Communication skills


• Java - development expertise


• Agile


• DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. - basic knowledge, not building new - using existing pipelines.


• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in financial services.

Pluses:

• Global Banking experience


• KDB and Python - highly preferred


• Spring nice to have


• SQL nice to have
